The Indian Medical Association Coimbatore Branch had a vibrant and productive first quarter of 2026, marked by impactful academic programs, community outreach, and strong member engagement. The year began with the Installation Ceremony themed “Members Advancing Together,” setting the tone for collaboration and service. January focused on awareness initiatives including National Road Safety Week, along with pongal vizha with cultural celebrations in our Velandhavalam villagein our CIMACT trust land and observance of important national health days like the Republic day and World Leprosy day. Academic engagement remained strong with multiple CME and online forums.
In February, the branch conducted key programs for World Cancer Day, the Paediatric cancer day along with HPV awareness and vaccination drives, benefiting students and the community. Around 250 chilbren recived th HPV Vaccine including village and tribal children. Free Cataract surgeries were facilitated through the Women doctors wing and outreach programs.Our key office bearers participated in leadership and medico legal training sessions.

March reflected continued commitment to service, with contributions to the IMA Headquarters Fund by our branch in sathyamangalam state council meet and a major HPV vaccination drive and Multple women doctors wing activities duuring nternational Women’s Day including Screening programs ,educational talks ,School education talks ,Thaimai and Mazhalai program. The chief guest Srimathi Vanathi Srinivasan Member of the legislative assembly felicitated key women enterpreneurs and women doctors who excelled in their profession.Academic events like the Diabetic–Obesity Summit and World Kidney Day programs were well attended. Community initiatives included glaucoma screening ,BLS training camps , rural health camps(The Aao Gao Chalon Camps) at Moongil madai Kuttai near Perur , and organ donation awareness programs .

Overall, the quarter showcased the branch’s dedication to professional excellence, public health, and community service, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.The first quarter of 2026 reflects the dedication, unity, and service-oriented spirit of our members. From academic excellence to community outreach and organizational development, the branch has demonstrated a strong commitment to healthcare and public service.I sincerely thank all office bearers and members for their unwavering support and active participation. Together, we look forward to a dynamic, impactful, and meaningful year ahead.
